Knowledge base

The knowledge base is your team's long-term memory, in the Runeya cloud. People read and write it from the web app (Knowledge menu). AI assistants connected to Runeya (see External AI tools) look things up in it and add to it.

Spaces, pages and themes

  • A space groups the pages of one area: product, infrastructure, customers… Every member of the organization sees every space.
  • A page has a type, which sets its fields and its starting sections:

  • A theme is a page of type Theme. It can sit under broader themes: "Stripe" under "Billing" and under "Integrations".

Every page has a summary of one or two sentences, aliases (other names for the subject) and sources. Search shows and matches them first: take care of them.

Search and cross

Search ignores accents and case, finds words of the same family and the beginning of titles. Click themes in the left column to keep only the pages carrying all of them. The Sub-themes setting says how deep each theme counts its sub-themes.

In the Links tab of a page: "see also", "depends on", "part of", "refines", "contradicts". In the text, the Link a page button inserts a link to another page. Every page also shows the pages linking to it.

Tables

A table written in Markdown (by you or by an AI) shows as a table in the page. To change it, click it: its Markdown opens, and closes again when you leave it. Older versions of the app show this Markdown without formatting it, but do not delete it.

Diagrams

An SVG diagram, put in a code block with the svg language, shows as an image in the page. The button at its top right opens it full size. You change it like a table, by clicking it. An AI can change a detail (a color, a label) without rewriting the whole diagram. The SVG is shown as an image: any script inside it does not run. Older versions of the app show its code without deleting it.

Writing together, and history

Several people can write in the same page at once; their cursors show. The History tab lists the versions with their author (a person, or an AI acting for a person). Open a version to read it and restore it if needed: the restore is added to the history, nothing is lost.

Locking a page

Lock prevents AIs from changing a page: they can still read it and link to it. Team members keep full access, and any of them can unlock it. An AI can neither lock, delete nor restore a page. To retire an outdated page, it marks it obsolete and names the page replacing it.
